Imazapyr is an organic heterocyclic herbicide developed by the American Cyanamid Company. It is a lethal herbicide. Its isopropylamine salt can be used before or after germination. It can be quickly absorbed by the roots and leaves of cultivated weeds, inhibiting the biosynthesis of the side chain amino acids of cultivated weeds, preventing the growth of weeds and causing them to die. The control targets include all weeds, and it has good weed control activity against sedge weeds, annual and perennial monocotyledonous weeds, broad-leaved weeds and miscellaneous woods. It is suitable for non-cultivated land as well as rubber plantations, oil palm, forests and tea gardens.
